In an attempt to make a little pocket money from my blogging habit, I have monetized my blog. This means that I "may" earn money if/when readers click on advertising in my blog and subsequently make a purchase through that link.
In general, I'm not in favor of "in your face" advertising, so I'll keep it simple and subtle.
A small "AdChoice" ad appears in the right sidebar and at the bottom of my blog. The content of these ads will vary, depending on the subject matter of the current blogpost. I don't select the content, Google does it based on keywords. Sometimes the ads that Google chooses amuse me.
Small "Affiliate" ads may be inserted into the main body of the blog. I'll keep these small and they will be for products I support. They'll be labelled so you'll know the difference between these and my other links.
I have also inserted links to my etsy store in the sidebar and through the "My Etsy Store" tab. If you make a purchase on my etsy store (please, please, please!) either myself or my business partner will earn money.
Note: as far as I can tell, thus far I have made less than 50c through advertising!
